MusicNomad is a musicians advocate organization that tries to make sense of the vast and fragmented music industry through researching, interviewing, reviewing and ranking thousands of companies in the music industry and filtering the ones that can really help musicians. We then do write ups on the companies and their benefits to you, rank them and give you a direct link to their website.  There are also tips, news and articles for musicians to explore.  The Website is free to use and focuses on fighting for the underdog, independent musicians!

What do we mean when we say our companies and resources are qualified and ranked? Like no other organization we have found, we do a combination of many factors to manage and re-arrange the companies we list on our site so that you are able to locate companies that are great resources for independent musicians. 

First off, every link we list, which are thousands, are validated for no broken links every month so you are not getting dead ends when you click on a resource. How many times have you visited sites where they list a link or resource and the page can not be found. We hope by checking our own resources every month we will catch and fix those to better your experience with us. 

Also, we get many companies that send requests to be listed on our site. We don't automatically list them. We check out the company and services to make sure you will benefit from knowing about this company. Many factors go into which companies we list and which companies we put higher up in the ranking so you find the companies that are putting forward an effort to help independent musicians. The Factors (not listed in order) that go into our rating system are

1. How long has the resource been in business
2. What independent musician forums are saying about the resources (good and bad)
3. Reputation they have in the industry for being a valuable resource for independent musicians
4. Contributions they want to make for helping musicians by sending us useful articles and tips that we list on our site for your benefit. We list Nomad Contributor next to the company's name. 
5. Assist in getting the word out about Music Nomad to independent musicians, so more can benefit from our free to use site. 
6. Willingness to give discounts to independent musicians via a MusicNomad discount rate. We contact many of our resources asking to pass on a discount for their services to our independent musician visitors. You will find these discount listed under Nomad Discount Icons next to the company's name. 
7. Do the companies charge for their services or are they free services. All things equal free services get higher ranking than paid servics as musicians could always use free services. We identify free services next to the company's name. 
8. Talking with the companies we list to find out more about them and their musician services. We do this via email, phone or in person at places such as the SXSW music conference. While we have not talked with every company on our site, we have talked with hundreds of them and continue to update and reach out to more companies.  

We will continue to refine and improve upon how we qualify and rank our resources/companies we list.
